My Story
I’m Not Wealthy.
I’m Strategic.
Hi, I am Abby, a wife and mother of our two girls. I am an Occupational Therapist, working in our local hospital. I met my husband while studying abroad in New Zealand, where I fell in love with him, and traveling!
I have always enjoyed planning trips and booking flights, but like some people, we were limited by the high cost of traveling. We saved up all year for one big vacation a year. A few years ago, I came across the idea of using credit card points to travel for nearly free. I was skeptical at first, and spent about a year learning about it. After getting over my “fears” of credit cards, (thanks to Dave Ramsey) I decided it was now or never.
My husband was diagnosed with bladder cancer, and it turned our world upside down for a bit. I spent time planning and earning credit card points, and it became a fun hobby and distraction for me. Before you know it, we booked our very first, all points paid vacation to Aruba! It was an amazing experience, and a great break for us during the cancer nightmare.
Since that very first trip, there was no going back. I continued earning my points and miles, opening credit cards, and planning trips. Meanwhile friends and family started asking me a lot of questions about how I was doing this. This led me to creating Abby’s Adventuring, where I am now sharing and teaching others how to do the very same thing, so you can also travel with your family and friends for nearly free.
We have been to Aruba, the Bahamas, Disney World, Italy and more. I have helped friends and family book vacations and hotel stays, and it’s been so rewarding! I love this hobby of mine, and even more, I love sharing it with others so they can do it too.
